Bro Dur Transition PRogram
We are very fortunate to work with three fantastic primary schools here in the south of Neath Port Talbot county - Ysgol Gymraeg Rhosafan, Ysgol Gymraeg Tyle'r Ynn and Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Neath - to secure a series of successful transition activities - both in our pupils’ wellbeing and curriculum/academic transition.
It is our intention that all pupils will be familiar with Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Dur by the time they arrive here in Year 7. This means that teachers in the school visit the primary schools regularly (not just in Year 6) and that primary pupils have opportunities to visit the school on numerous occasions before they complete their time in primary school.
It is important that you as parents have the opportunity to visit the school - and this takes place on an Open Evening every September for Year 6 parents and also for the Information Evening in the summer term before our pupils arrive.
I work very closely with Miss Angharad Ellis, Head of Year 7 Progress, to ensure that the first weeks of our pupils' time in Bro Dur are happy and fulfilling. We know that as parents you will have questions and some concerns during this new and exciting period, so we aim to be accessible to you at all times during this transition period.
If you would like to chat at any time, please contact me or Miss Agharad Ellis by emailing the addresses below or by telephoning the school (01639 502895).
We look forward to working with you,
