The KS4 Curriculum at the Bro Campus is a balanced curriculum that includes elements of core statutory subjects and optional subjects. 

In year 9 pupils will study 12 compulsory subjects: Welsh, English, Mathematics, Science, Religious studies, Art & design, Expressive arts, Geography, History, Health & wellbeing, Modern foreign languages and STEM. All year 9 pupils will also choose 1 optional subject from column A. This process starts early in January of Year 8.  Every year we adapt our option columns to the needs and requirements of pupils within the cohort. 

Every year 10 pupil will follow 9 core statutory subjects.  These subjects are.  Welsh Language, Welsh Literature, English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Numeracy, Double science, and the Welsh BAC. 

All year 10 pupils will also choose 3 optional subjects.  One from each option column.  This process starts early in January of Year 9.  Every year we adapt our option columns to the needs are requirements of pupils within the cohort. 

Subjects in column A are completed in one year (either year 9 or 10), whereas subjects in column B & C are completed over two years (year 10 & 11). 

Optional subjects are either a Level 2 vocational or a GCSE qualification - Here are the option columns for September 2022 - Summer 2024.
